HFC Bank Pledges $50,000 to Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Appeal

The Board of Directors and Management of HFC Bank have pledged a cash sum of $50,000 to Prime Minister’s TC Winston Appeal. The cheque was presented to the Honorable Prime Minister Rear Admiral J.V.Bainimarama by HFC Bank’s Chairman Mr. Tom Ricketts and CEO Mr. Isikeli Tikoduadua today (21.03.16)

In addition to the pledge of $50,000 cash, the Staff Social Club of the bank along with the Management and the Board of Directors raised close to $5,000 through an internal fundraising drive. The money raised was used to purchase immediate relief items. The staff and Management with the guidance of NDMO reached families with relief items in the interior of Viti Levu near Wailoa Station in Monasavu , interior of Rewa and in the Western Division.
“We as the local bank have our obligations and corporate responsibility to our nation. We have joined hands to help rebuild lives and homes of our people and nation. We thank the NDMO team who have been out there untiringly, assisting in the affected areas. With the guidance of NDMO, our staff were able to go an extra mile to reach the villages in the interior areas to assist”, said Mr. Tikoduadua. Despite the situation, it was heartwarming to see the high spirit of the people added Mr. Tikoduadua.
The staff of HFC Bank have also contributed boxes of clothes, blankets, shoes and other essential items that will be given to FENC Fiji for distribution.
This March, the bank marks its second anniversary as a fully – fledged commercial bank. Chairman Mr. Ricketts said “There was no better way to thank our nation than by giving it back to the people in this time of need.
Whilst visiting customers in disaster stricken areas, Mr. Tikoduadua has urged clients to visit the nearest branch or contact the account managers for the assistance. He also stated that processes for cyclone affected customers have been streamlined for quicker turnaround service.
The bank has reactivated the rehabilitation package to assist the existing and potential customers. These products feature interest rates as low as 4.5%, Fixed for 5 years. Affected customers can apply for Personal Secured and Unsecured Loans at this rate under the Rehab Package. Businesses that have been affected may also apply for funding assistance under the Disaster Rehabilitation Product and the Package also covers Cane Farm Loans. The Fees are also discounted on Rehab products.
