Seven of listed stocks recorded market activities.

Various share price movements were noted:

  •  Kontiki Finance Ltd shares decreased by 4 cents ending the week at 94 cents; while
  •  Fijian Holdings Ltd shares further rose by 20 cents to close the week at $1.20;

Following these price changes, the market capitalisation increased by 1.82 percent ending the week at $3.21 billion.

Meanwhile in Forex market, eyes turn to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Monetary Policy Statement that is this week’s headline act.

Investors will be focusing on the U.S. inflation figures after the Federal Reserve said it will be patient as it considers whether to continue hiking interest rates.

Other U.S. economic reports due this week include consumer prices on Wednesday, producer prices and December retail sales figures on Thursday and industrial production on Friday. The retail sales report had been delayed by the temporary government shutdown.
