The communities visited were predominantly yaqona-farming villages located in some of the most remote parts of Fiji, where access to banking services remains challenging and costly. For many residents, travelling to Suva involves crossing rivers on foot several times before securing expensive four-wheel-drive transport. As a result, many villagers continue to keep substantial amounts of cash at home rather than utilizing formal banking services.<\/p>\n<p>The outreach focused on promoting financial literacy through informal talanoa sessions, introducing HFC Bank\u2019s products and services, and assisting villagers with opening bank accounts. The team also provided personalized guidance on savings, budgeting, and responsible financial management while addressing questions and concerns regarding banking processes and services. Over the course of the initiative, the team visited six villages and successfully opened 32 savings accounts and one Retail Term Deposit account. Beyond these achievements, the outreach provided valuable insights into opportunities for process improvements, particularly in simplifying account opening requirements and streamlining approval procedures to better support rural and underserved communities.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative highlights HFC Bank\u2019s ongoing commitment to advancing financial inclusion, empowering communities through financial education, and strengthening relationships with people across Fiji. By bringing banking services closer to those who need them most, HFC Bank continues to play a vital role in supporting economic participation and improving financial accessibility throughout the
