HFC will add another proliferation of service by becoming an agent for Western Union, money transfer. It has partnered with FEXCO Fiji Limited for the agency of Western Union Money Transfers in Fiji.
FEXCO offers consumers money transfer service as an agent of Western Union. “This is one of the value- adding services not only for our customers, but for anyone who intends to receive and send money” said chief executive officer of HFC, Isikeli Tikoduadua. “ Again, this arrangement will work as a conduit for our people who are residing overseas to remit funds to Fiji for investment in term deposit, for loan repayment or even gifts for their loved ones and families, added Mr. Tikoduadua. “Many Fijians are working and residing abroad like in US, Canada, UK, neighboring countries in the Pacific, Australia and New Zealand who now have a choice of remitting funds to Fiji in a very quick and efficient way through Fiji’s own institution HFC,” said Tikoduadua.
“We are also proud to be associated with Western Union and FEXCO Fiji Limited for such partnership and also thank the Reserve Bank of Fiji for allowing such an agency arrangement,” said Mr. Tikoduadua.
Western Union is one of the world’s leading money transfer services. It allows customers to send and receive funds in minutes at more than 445,000 agent locations in over 200 countries worldwide. Fexco (Fiji) is the largest Western Union agent in Fiji with 9 Branches and 92 Subagent locations.
Following the signing of agreement, HFC will provide the Western Union services from 2nd April 2013. “We will continue to look at innovative and prudent product and services to introduce for our customers and the people of Fiji” said Isikeli Tikoduadua.
