The HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge 2014 was launched in style at the Holiday Inn in Suva earlier this evening.
In launching the HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge, HFC Bank Chairman, Tom Ricketts reminded the invited guests how important rugby was to the nation and how proud they were to sponsor one of the oldest provincial competitions in Fiji.
“When it comes to Fiji Rugby our stadiums are jam packed and I am sure you will all agree that this sport is a leading sport and is the catalyst to bring our people and communities together.”

From its humble beginnings in 1941, the Farebrother Challenge began with five unions contesting for the trophy.
73 years later, eight unions now contest for the coveted silverware vying for rugby supremacy in Fiji.
Ricketts further explained how the HFC Bank and the Farebrother Challenge were connected to the people of Fiji.

FRU Chief Executive Officer, Radrodro Tabualevu thanked HFC Bank’s Chairman, Mr Ricketts and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Isikeli Tikoduadua for making the Challenge Bigger and Better this year.

The HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge 2014 kicks off this Saturday, with current holders Nadroga challenging Naitasiri at Lawaqa Park.
