HFC is in the process of introducing micro finance loan product for all those who intend to set up or are engaged in any micro business. “Today HFC in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) is organizing an open market day, for micro entrepreneurial and small business people to give them an opportunity to sell and showcase their products” said Sherese Peckham, Manager Insurance Services for HFC. “We also have one of the best micro insurance product and funeral policy and now we are in the process of introducing a very attractive micro finance loan product” she added.
Tanielu Dan Aiafi of Pacific ICT Outreach Program of SPC said that about 50 stalls have been taken and this is the first open market to be held this Saturday from 9.00am till 3.00pm. He said that this is part of the SPC’s ways of giving pack to the community. “Microfinance offers an alternative paradigm for the poor people who are currently not served by conventional financial services” said the Chief Executive Officer of HFC, Isikeli Tikoduadua. “In order to provide access to sustainable services on scale, it is imperative for the industry to adopt innovative and sound practices and prove that micro finance is also catalyst of the economic drive” said Tikoduadua. “We at HFC are totally committed to be the part of driving the economy of Fiji and we are in the process of reviewing most of products and services” he added. Sherese has also called on all those youth groups and women’s clubs who intend to set up business to visit HFC from next month for the new product. She also mentioned that HFC will be out in Ra next week with Ministry of Youth to conduct financial literacy training.
HFC in the last 12 months has introduced various innovative products that include Super Dream Home Loan, Personal Unsecured Loans, HFC Plus Point, Flood Rehabilitation loans.
